Six Nations Rugby continued with England and Scotland playing for the Calcutta cup. What a fantastic game? Fast and furious – from late afternoon to evening with great change in light on the way. The pace was relentless all the way through, I really couldn’t keep up! So difficult to draw – I was transfixed by socks! So many pairs and all black! The drawings were ragged and abstract – but what a game! Here are my drawings:

I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
