Six Nations Rugby Union starts today. Wonderful tournament of rugby – my favourite in fact. I’ve just watched and sketched Wales and Ireland, the opening contest this year. In 10 minutes or so, England and Scotland play for the Calcutta cup. So pleased to be back to drawing some sport – feeling very rusty and challenged to high heaven trying to keep up! Here are my drawings:

I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
