Skiing is a wonderful sport to follow – and even better to do, if you can. I never progressed much beyond simple blue and green runs, so I’m in awe of the professional skiers who are so strong, exciting and graceful. I’ve been making drawings recently including this week’s Super G at the World Championships in Schladming. A great win for Ted Ligety! Here are my drawings:

Through the gate!
Hanging on!
Riding the ice
Svindal nearly loses it!
Hurtling to the bottom!
I’m a mixed media visual artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work reflects my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – there is movement and energy everywhere.
