Tour de France 2013: Stage 2- Bastia to Ajaccio

Bonjour! After the drama and strange happenings of Stage 1, the second stage seemed somewhat calmer until the race reached Ajaccio. Strong legs required for the first of the climbing stages. Sky flexed their muscles with a chase through the streets and there was a surprise win for a very happy man, Jan Bakelants, with a one second gap! Here are my drawings:

I’m a mixed media visual artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work reflects my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – there is movement and energy everywhere.

    beautiful expression and sharing! I’m almost inspired to cycle, but in this heat I’m gonna get out the kayak and paddle. may you be well.

      Thank you for lovely message. I love to see the cyclists ride – such strength and tenacity, but I agree that water is very appealing in the heat! Happy paddling and enjoy the water. May you be well too 🙂
