This is a post that ties in with a blog project based around flowers. Well worth a look and taking part. Find out more on http://festivalofflowers.wordpress.com/ , or click the logo below. This is a little african violet that sits at home with us and quietly goes about its work in a charming way. Here is my drawing:

Maxine, this is just too beautiful for words hon! I have african violets in my garden and they just started blooming. You are a wonderful artist and this is an excellent entry for Jackie’s challenge. Thanks for sharing. 😀 *hugs*

Thank you so much! I’m delighted to hear that you like the drawing. I’m also amazed that your african violets are in your garden – we couldn’t do that in UK – too cold for most of the time. I love the idea that you could have a bed of them outdoors! Wonderful! Thank you again, 🙂

It’s my pleasure, Jackie. Thank you. This little plant has been with us for years. He likes quiet light from the North and a little water from time to time. He sits quietly all year and then suddenly reminds you that he’s alive by bursting into flower. I’m really fond of him. He has some children who have come from pinching a leaf and sitting in water for a few days until roots develop. Just as pretty! I love the project and hope you get lots more flowers from around the world.:-)

I’m so happy you do! Just so you know – when fall begins the Festival of Flowers will go on hiatus till next spring and a new challenge called Festival of Foliage will temporarily take its place. I haven’t officially announced it yet but I will in early September.
