Three faces

Hello! Still on the path of music, I’ve been working on more drawings of faces at play. More finding their way to the dustbin than here, but I wanted to share these three with you. Here are my drawings:

I’m a mixed media visual artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work reflects my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – there is movement and energy everywhere.

    Thanks Jackie – I needed that encouragement! I’ve not drawn or painted faces for many years and yet I used to do them all the time. Thought it was time to have another go, but I love the concentration and intensity of these men, really wonderful to try and capture. 🙂

    Even before I read these are faces of people playing, I thought: this guy looks vaguely Chopin-ish 🙂

      Thank you so much. I must say it crossed my mind that the face seemed to tell the story of the activity. The instrument becomes secondary in a way – interesting notion 🙂
