Hello! I wanted to share some sketches I’ve just made of our cat Azlan. I like to draw him when he’s asleep. He tucks his paws and tail away, (well just about) and as he is a black cat, looks at first glance, very much like a blob with ears! However, as you look longer, the lines within the shape are so beautiful and each section of his body link together so wonderfully, he’s a joy to behold! He’s a lovely cat and I never tire of looking at him. See what you think. Here are my drawings:

I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
