Hello! I’m delighted to be drawing cycling for the first time this year. Even more delighted that it is the first Women’s Tour of Britain. My first drawings are from Stages 1 and 2 which were held in Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Bedfordshire – not far from where I live, so a real thrill! Here are my drawings:

I’m a mixed media visual artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work reflects my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – there is movement and energy everywhere.

Lovely sketches, Maxine. My fave is Women’s Tour: Cornering the Bend : ) I really feel the exertion and energy of the riders. Fantastic!

Thank you so much Anita, that one does stand out. I’m amazed by the speed that they travel, I do admire their courage to ride so fast, I’m a real coward!!! 🙂
