Hello! Back to sporting action – a first for me as I’ve never drawn football before, ironically as it’s the first sport I followed as a child. The World Cup is on in Brazil and of course, the expectations are high for the host team. The massive Fortaleza stadium was ablaze with colour and could barely contain the sound of the passion of the Brazilian National Anthem. It was a hard-fought and fast game but ended in a draw – fairly in my view, as both teams were brilliant! Here are my drawings:

I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
