Bonjour! Stage 20 saw the first and only time trial of this year’s Tour. This stage established the final positions for the podium for this year. Inevitably, the World Champion, Tony Martin took the stage win and the smoothest of smooth run by Vincenzo Nibali confirmed him as overall winner, but the interest really lay with the battle for second place. The new crop of French stars won through although there was heartbreak for Romain Bardet whose bike change en route cost him vital minutes, leaving him bewildered in sixth place, but Jean-Christophe Peraud and Thibaut Pinot, came 2nd and 3rd respectively, whetting the appetite for next year! Tomorrow sees the great climax in Paris – can’t wait! Here are my drawings:

I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
