Hello! Following last week’s post featuring pictures for my exhibition, here is another group from last year’s Tour. I chose these because they feature the crowds who line the course, giving atmosphere and support to the riders. These devotees turn out in all weathers and all terrains to follow the race. They carry flags, wear daft clothes, make bunting, dress up their livestock, write slogans on the road, make bikes out of haybales – anything and everything to make the most fleeting of glimpses of this great race a great spectacle. The race wouldn’t be the same without them. Here are my drawings:
