Tour de France 2015: Stage 21 – Sèvres, Grand Paris Seine Ouest to Paris Champs-Élysées

Bonjour! Stage 21, the final stage in Paris sets the seal on the Tour. Regarded by some as a procession or show stage, there is still the matter of the Yellow Jersey completing the course before the phenomenal final sprint on the Champs-Élysées. Not quite so predictable on this occasion, as the roads were made treacherous by torrential rain. The day in Paris began as last year, with the new women’s race, La Course. I felt compelled to include this as the racing was just outstanding. (A full post especially dedicated to it will follow) After this breathtaking race, the men’s Tour exploded onto the great Paris streets, with another momentous victory for Andre Greipel. What an extraordinary Tour this has been? Just wonderful! As a British fan, I share the delight for Team Sky and Chris Froome – a great achievement for them. Congratulations! Here are my drawings:

    • I would love to do a book but still researching best way to do one that I can afford to produce and people can afford to buy. I would welcome any advice or ideas! I’m working on it though and will focus on it again now the Tour is over. I will keep you posted. Meanwhile, I’m so delighted to hear that you like these drawings, it’s great to hear it! 😀

      • I’d have to think of his name but I met a bloke who makes up art books for publishers. I didn’t know there such a job, but I was very impressed. He was on the seabird painting course and I can probably find him through Facebook. If that’s any help.

      • That would be a wonderful start. I have tried with a well-known self-publishing site but to create a book as I envisage, is unrealistic for author and audience alike. I also feel that a good editor would be an essential asset as well. I’m on FB as well, so could DM. Thank you!

      • Hi Maxine
I’ve messaged the person I think creates books for a living. He is called Nye Hughes but I might have remembered this all wrong. I mentioned your name so for all I know he might look you up directly. Anyway, maybe something will come of it, maybe not.

    • Thanks so much! The linked riders are so hard to draw, it ‘s very easy to miss one, add one or run out of paper! I’m glad you like it. Greipel was brilliant this Tour, very strong, it was a pleasure to watch and draw him, thank you! 😀
