Tour de France 2016: Stage 21 – Chantilly to Paris Champs-Élysées

Bonjour! Stage 21, the triumphal ride into Paris! The sun came out – a relief after the past two days and there was the usual friendly handshakes and congratulations to the Yellow Jersey. Team Sky were in good mood, enjoying beer en route and all processed gracefully to Paris. The racing began on the Champs-Élysées. The win went to André Greipel like last year, but all the more sweet for him as a stage win had eluded him this Tour. Finally, the champions, Team Sky brought home their man, Chris Froome – a brilliant third win. Definitely time for a lie-down! Here are my drawings:

  1. Yes! I was so pleased with how the race turned out, brilliant result! Lovely paintings, especially the yellowed Sky line-up!! I’ve loved following your lovely blog over the last few weeks, I’m so sad that it’s over. Now we look forward to the Olympics!

    • Hi Rosanna – It was great wasn’t it? There’s something so special about Le Tour – quite unique! I miss it too! Thanks so much for following my blog for the past three weeks, it’s lovely to have your feedback. The Sky line-up is SO HARD to draw – apparently very hard to do on the bikes as well. Rio should be amazing – I hope our cyclists do well there too. Keep in touch and thanks again, Maxine 🙂

  3. A fantastic series of pictures Maxine, as always. Griepel and the 4 champions are my favourites of this particular set. You’ve also earned a beer (or something similar) and a rest until…?
