Hello! Stage 6 took a route through the county of Devon, from the beaches at Sidmouth up inland on to Dartmoor, finishing high up on Haytor. The weather wasn’t kind – wet and windy, riders and fans passing through dark lanes shrouded by tall trees – definitely the place to meet a highwayman in older days! The race was tough going but still plenty of fans out on the route. Team Sky looked strong through much of the stage and it was their rider, Wout Poels who took the win with the yellow jersey passing to Stephen Cummings. All poised brilliantly for Stage 7. Here are my drawings:

I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
