Hello! Another picture inspired by this year’s Tour de Yorkshire cycle race. It was a fantastic event and so well supported – I’ve felt really inspired! Today’s picture, ‘Flying past the gorse’ shows exactly that, in springtime on moorland, the golden gorse is always a treat. This view shows the cyclists riding through the landscape of Cathy and Heathcliff – blasted by winds and trees still not quite in leaf. It was a tough climb too!

I’m a mixed media visual artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work reflects my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – there is movement and energy everywhere.
