Hello! There was a lovely meeting of two worlds during this year’s Tour de Yorkshire, when the race was greeted by a gorgeous steam locomotive en route. If only I could capture the ‘toot-toot’ of the train’s whistle as the riders went past – really evocative of bygone times, beautiful!
I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
