Saturday saw a great, if hair-raising start to this year’s long-awaited Tour de France. The weather not so kind, rain and sometimes really heavy – resulting in falls and injuries which were sad to see. The route was a circuit around the city and surrounding countryside of Nice – which is spectacular, even in the rain.
This first image from Stage 1, shows the descent at around 45.9km, slithery and skithery – an alternative title perhaps!

It’s lovely to get back to work after a strange few months – Have a great day! 🙂
I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
