Tour de France 2020: Stage 2 – Taking a drink, 127.4km
This second image from Stage 2 is something that ‘came’ unexpectedly as I was painting and drawing. The scene was a back view of the riders as they passed the 5km sign at 127.4km – My eye was taken by the rider having a drink – I then applied the paint for the trees quite liberally around – obliterating the sign. I quite liked the effect so left it! See what you think?
I’m a mixed media visual artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work reflects my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – there is movement and energy everywhere.
