Tour de France 2020: Stage 3 – Big clouds over the mountains
Bonjour! This first image from Stage 3 is a return to one of my favourite themes – the peloton in the wider landscape. This time with a v ery powerful sky over the mountains behind them. Also, back to watercolour, pen and ink on white paper, to let the clouds come through.
I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
