Tour de France 2020: Stage 4 – Mist on the Mountains
Stage 4 went back to the mountains once more – the pattern of alternating terrain to serve sprinters and climbers seems to be the design of this year’s race – and working well for them hopefully. It’s good for viewers like me certainly!
The scenery has been spectacular certainly – it would be very easy to ignore the bike race and just focus on the landscape, it is so beautiful. This example shows a reasonably flat section with mountains in the background wearing a veil of mist, with great elegance, as only mountains can.
I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
