Stage 5 finished with an extraordinary win for Wout van Aert, who turned from climber to sprinter to storm past Sam Bennett and Cees Bol in a blistering attack at the finish. He is another young rider with huge potential in this race – these are exciting times indeed!
Meanwhile, the Yellow Jersey also changed hands from Julian Alaphilippe to Adam Yates, when Alaphilippe was fined 20 seconds for taking a drink after the stage deadline.
The most expensive drink of all time? Possibly..
Have a good day today.. 🙂
Are you using a different technique or canvas for this one?

Hello! Lovely to hear from you! Thank you for your question. It is still on paper, and made with my usual watercolour with pen and ink, but the difference, you quite rightly spotted, is that I also applied oil pastel for strength in the shadows, and then laid washes of watercolour over the top. It’s a ‘resist’ technique, which I haven’t used for years! Thought it would be nice to try for a change.
I took the photo while it was still wet, so if you look carefully, you can see blobs of paint! Thanks so much for asking, Best wishes, Maxine
