Tour de France 2020: Stage 9 – Tadej Pogačar Wins!
The final image from Stage 9, shows the moment – or should I say, split second – when Tadej Pogačar took the win. Incredibly, Marc Hirschi is right behind him, having found energy in his legs to join the sprint for the line.
Tadej Pogačar was overjoyed understandably, while his great friend, Primož Roglič, rode into the Yellow Jersey at the same time. Hirschi’s supreme effort was rewarded with the Combatif award, as the most aggressive ride of the day. All three are a joy to watch …and to draw!
I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
