Tour de France 2021: Stage 11 – The weirdness that is Mont Ventoux
Tour de France 2021 – Stage 11, The weirdness that is Mont Ventoux,
Mont Ventoux always reminds me of the moon, with its white, grey stoney surface – beautiful shades of Naples yellow and grey – and what seems to be little in the way of living things… It’s a strange and evocative scene – something of science fiction…
I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
