Here is the group again, from the back – and against the light (contre-jour), which I love! Just played with the light and colour here and let the paint do its thing! You can see how the electric pink of Higuita’s jersey ‘ran’ to the left – When watercolour decides to do this, there isn’t much to stop it but I rather liked the effect here…
I’m a contemporary artist working in Leicestershire in the UK. I trained in Fine Art using different media including oils and acrylics, but my recent work is a return to my love of drawn media, especially pen, ink, watercolour and pastels. My theme is movement – My subjects are varied from landscape, animals, musicians, dancers and sport, especially cycling. The unifying feature of all these subjects is that they are constantly changing – even in a landscape there is movement everywhere! I capture the energy of elusive moments often starting with a quick pen and ink drawing. I write and publish my artworks on a blog called ‘Racing Lines’.
