It’s coming up to the anniversary of my blog ‘Racing Lines’ – My first post was made on 7th July 2012… Just text and no images to try WordPress and see what I could do. In seven years, the blog has taken me to lots of places and I’ve met some lovely people and made friends – It’s been a great adventure – just with my pens, watercolours and pastels – and my laptop. Today, I discovered that the number of people following ‘Racing Lines’ has risen to 3,000, which I find quite incredible. WordPress tells me that there have…

Hello! Drawing in February is going to be great if today’s weather holds. It’s so sunny in my little studio that I’ve opened the windows to let in the fresh air. The sun is casting a shadow across my drawing just now, so I thought it would be good time to pause, take some photos and share with you. Following last week’s snowdrops, I’ve been working with pastel again – the colours are so alive, they’re great. Here is the drawing which I included for yesterday’s #DrawingAugust project:
Hello! Still working through the daily drawing challenge, #DrawingAugust, I’m finding that I’m drawing all sorts of things! Today, I made a little still life, something I’ve not done for a long time – Happy drawing!
For a bit of fun, have a go at the challenge to do a drawing every day through August. You make a drawing, scan or photograph it and send it via Twitter to #DrawingAugust. Here is the one I made earlier today – a preparatory study of cyclists for a new oil painting inspired by the Tour de France. Happy drawing!
