Hello! Stage 2 saw another wet day but with some extraordinary work by peloton and breakaway alike. More of the breakaway to come but this picture shows a section of the peloton where the teams briefly gathered (if they did but know it!) into a great arrangement of primary colours, blues, reds and yellows… Beautifully done! Tour de France 2017: Stage 1 – Düsseldorf

Hello! The opening stage of 2017 Tour de France took place on a very wet day in Düsseldorf. It was an individual time trial for all riders around the city. In spite of the rain, spirits and expectations were high and the fans were out steadfastly in the rain for hours, supporting the riders. This first picture shows the umbrellas lining the course and one very cautious rider picking his way through the puddles!
