Tour de France 2019: Stage 3 – Binche to Épernay

Bonjour!  The Tour comes back to France! In the beautiful Champagne region – chalky soils and sunny countryside, no wonder the wine fizzes here! The Tour also fizzed again today – with a brilliant ride from Julian Alaphilippe. He is a flamboyant rider – such style and daring. He wears a moustache like a Musketeer and one would imagine rides like one – if we were ever to see a Musketeer on a bike!  However you see it, this man is a breath of fresh air to the sport – he is full of daring and fun. A fab day’s racing with the promise of what’s to come…

Tour de France 2014: Stage 7 – Épernay to Nancy

Bonjour! Stage 7 is one of the longest stages on this year’s Tour but passed through some lovely towns and villages by the great river Moselle. The weather was dry at last and for the most part, the stage passed uneventfully. Then came three dramatic crashes and a photo finish – never a dull moment! The stage was won in a hair’s breadth by Matteo Trentin.  Here are my drawings:

Stage 6 – This was the last sprint stage before the mountains, passing by scenes of battle in World War I. The stage could be summed up as, big skies, big trees and big accidents. Here are some more drawings.
