Golden Age

Hello! There was a lovely meeting of two worlds during this year’s Tour de Yorkshire, when the race was greeted by a gorgeous steam locomotive en route. If only I could capture the ‘toot-toot’ of the train’s whistle as the riders went past – really evocative of bygone times, beautiful! ALL IMAGES COPYRIGHT MAXINE DODD

Flying past the gorse! £250

Hello!  Another picture inspired by this year’s Tour de Yorkshire cycle race. It was a fantastic event and so well supported – I’ve felt really inspired!  Today’s picture, ‘Flying past the gorse’ shows exactly that, in springtime on moorland, the golden gorse is always a treat. This view shows the cyclists riding through the landscape of Cathy and Heathcliff – blasted by winds and trees still not quite in leaf. It was a tough climb too! £250 Original watercolour, pen and ink 20 x 20cm / 8 x 8in (unframed) Click to buy ALL IMAGES COPYRIGHT MAXINE DODD

Le Tour de Yorkshire – The start of the race

Hello!  Today’s picture is from the beginning of the Tour de Yorkshire – right at the start in the seaside town of Bridlington. The sun was shining and, of course, it was breezy!  Lovely to see the cyclists chatting at the start, looking relaxed, ready to begin! ALL IMAGES COPYRIGHT MAXINE DODD
